Writing

Good writing skills are essential for effective communication. Learning to write well takes time and practice. In the early grades children are learning the art of creating letters that will eventually be strung together to form words, and then simple sentences. As a child progresses through school writing becomes a tool for communicating ideas and articulating understanding. At Learning Bound our Writing programs focus on helping children express their thoughts clearly and effectively through the development of age appropriate skills.

At the elementary level our focus is on the basics of sentence development, grammar, the writing process, and structure. For the older child, our focus also includes paragraph development, and essay writing.

Students at the secondary level are expected to write using different types of compositions, such as Persuasive essays, descriptive, cause and effect, and compare and contrast. Students will also be expected to analyze text, identify and discuss the main idea, and research and write essays. At Learning Bound we give students the skills they need to write effectively with confidence and motivation.

"Now that I am in grade nine I am able to write essays with ease because I can structure an essay with all the necessary components."
A. Bennett (Student)
