History

Founded in 1996, Learning Bound Inc. has been delivering personalized in home, tutoring programs to students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 in all subject areas including Reading, Writing, Mathematics, English, Science and Study Skills. Our tutoring programs have also helped countless children that have been Identified at school, those with learning disabilities, and those with acquired brain injuries.

Our Approach

Our positive approach is based on working with each child's natural gifts and dispositions. At Learning Bound we help students use their learning style as a doorway to reach academic goals, improve confidence and to discover direction in life. We help students reach their potential across subjects, not just for one subject in one school year. It is our goal to break that cycle of hiring tutors to sit and watch your child do homework year after year.

Programs

Unlike other large Learning Centres, we have no pre-determined curriculum that was developed for thousands of other children. Our carefully designed Individual Program Plans, coupled with one-on-one instruction provided in the comfort and security of your own home will allow your child to reach his or her academic goals. Instruction is truly individualized, one-on-one, not one teacher to 3, 4 or more children in a classroom setting. As well, there is the added benefit that you as a parent are involved in the process, and not simply dropping your child off where you wait outside.

In addition, we work to find a balance between filling in skill gaps and providing support with current school work. We do not want to overwhelm an already struggling student. As well we pride ourselves on matching your child with the right tutor; someone he or she can trust and truly relate to.

We only hire the best

Our tutors are highly motivated, dedicated, and highly skilled professionals from the education industry (B.Ed., M.Ed., EA). Our master tutors use their knowledge of Learning Styles, the Ontario Curriculum, and lesson planning to follow and implement a Personalized Program Plan, evaluate progress and success, and inspire excitement about learning.

Scheduling

At Learning Bound, we understand that today's families are busy. Perhaps one of the greatest advantages Learning Bound can offer is that because we come to you, your lessons can be scheduled around you. Our tutors are available seven days a week, morning, afternoon or evening.

Coverage Area

We primarily serve the Durham Region including, but not limited to, Oshawa, Courtice, Bowmanville, Newcastle, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering and Port Perry.
